- WASHER FITTER - Often called a “washer” or “spider" fitter, the shade will sit on top of your lamp harp and is secured by a finial or cap. HomeConcept shades include thick 4.7mm brass metal frames and fitters for long-lasting quality. Drop is 1/2", which means top of washer is 1/2" below the top of the shade.
- OVAL DRUM SHAPE -HomeConcept hard-backed lining shades are lined with durable plastic that are designed to reduce the light passing through the sides of the shade. A lamp shade is a decorative shade which typically surrounds a light source. Table lamps and floor lamps often use a lamp shade. The shade itself serves multiple functions, directing light upwards for ambient light, and downwards for nearby tasks. The funnel shape also helps heat to escape from the light bulbs. Some light may diffuse through the sides of the shade as well. The shade also protects your eyes from light-bulb glare and can become a part of your room's decorative style. Replacement lamp shades are a great way to refresh a lamp or light fixture. They attach to the lamp usually with a harp or fitter and finial.

A Rectangular-Shaped Shade
A rectangle or square lamp shade appears to look like a rectangle when seen from above or below. Often the shade is wider than it is front-to-back. Mounts to a Lamp
Sits on top of a harp or fitter, which is typically attached to a floor or table lamp. Spider-fitter shades sit on top of a harp fitter (a separate item). Uno fitter shades sit below the bulb with the uno fitter above. Clip-on shades clip directly onto the light bulb.

Measuring a Square or Rectangular Lamp Shade
Square/Rectangular shades are typically measured with three or more dimensions:- Top: Since square or rectangular shades have flat sides, or appear as a `box` when viewed from above, the top dimension is usually simply the width of the top of the shade along one edge. However, for a rectangular shade, the width is wider than the measurement from front to back, so you may need to measure both the top width (left to right) and the top depth (front to back).
- Bottom: Since sqare or rectangular shades have flat sides, or appear as a `box` when viewed from below, the bottom dimension is usually simply the width of the bottom of the shade along one edge. However, for a rectangular shdae, the width is wider than the measurement from front to back, so you may need to measure both the bottom width (left to right) and the bottom depth (front to back).
- Slant Height: The diagonal height/length measured in a straight line from the top edge of the shade to the bottom edge. Measure in the middle of the side of the shade from top to bottom. For shades with curved sides, continue to measure the slant height in a perfectly straight line.
